Breast Lift

Breast Lift (Mastopexy) is a form of breast surgery in which the breast is literally ‘lifted.” It is utilized most often by women who have lost breast volume (but not skin size) due to weight and childbirth.

The operation is very similar to breast reduction, except that only skin is removed. Since almost all patients requiring a mastopexy lack the normal “inner volume” of breast tissue, a breast augmentation (enlargement) is also usually required.

The first step involves the repositioning of the nipple-areolar complex. Excess stretched skin is then removed, while a breast implant is simultaneously inserted to replace missing breast volume.

The surgery is typically performed on an outpatient basis. Normal activities can resume two to four weeks after surgery.
