What is Labiaplasty?

What exactly is Labiaplasty surgery? Labiaplasty, sometimes referred to as lipoplasty, is a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure designed to reshape the genital labia. The labia majora and labia minora are both external folds of skin that occur on each side of the vulva, which can be uncomfortable or even painful for many women.

In most cases, these procedures are performed by a board certified plastic surgeon. This type of surgeon will typically perform a laser mesotherapy procedure in order to help patients achieve better results. During this procedure, the surgeon will remove excess skin, fat, and scar tissue. He or she may also perform labium reduction, which is the removal of the inner portion of the vulva. In addition, this type of surgeon may also perform a lipoplasty or reshaping of the lips.

As with any surgical procedure, patients are encouraged to be fully aware of the potential complications as well as risks before undergoing such a procedure. In addition to the risks inherent in surgery itself, patients may experience pain, swelling, bleeding, numbness, and even a risk of the genital area becoming infected. While these risks are rare, they are still possible. If the risks do occur, they usually only happen if the patient makes a critical, misdiagnosed error during the surgical procedure.

A Blue Water Plastic Surgery Partners surgery is typically performed on young adolescent girls and boys who are between the ages of eight and eighteen years old. During the surgery, incisions are made either inside the vagina or along the external edge of the vulva, depending on which technique the doctor prefers. During this procedure, an incision is made inside the vagina, and a thin strip of skin is then removed from the inside of the vagina. The strip of skin is then trimmed off to resemble the shape of a penis, and Labiaplasty surgery is then performed.

After the surgery, patients are required to wear loose clothing for several weeks after the procedure is performed. The reason for this is because it is likely that the skin will grow back thinner in the weeks following surgery, and patients will experience some degree of discomfort while healing. This discomfort can easily be avoided, however, by wearing comfortable clothing. In addition to the discomfort that patients may experience, there is also a risk of scarring. Scarring is much less common after a Blue water Plastic surgery Partners than it was prior to the procedure being performed, but scarring is still possible if the procedure is not performed properly or if the patient is not ready for the possibility of more scars.

The increased self-confidence that women experience after having Labiaplasty makes them eager to share their experiences with others. Because so many women are now able to have the appearance they desire, there are many more people who are learning about this plastic surgery. As more people become aware of the procedure, the more people will have information available to help them make an informed decision on whether or not this type of elective plastic surgery is right for them. Although patients should remember that this surgical procedure can be a risk, many come away feeling satisfied with the final results.
